In this special standalone story, The Flash loses someone important to him. To catch the villain responsible, The Flash must figure out how to use his powers in the one place where they do him little good: the sky!

I've decided on a theory for the Forever Evil Batman, actually, but be warned it will contain a few spoilers for the first issue, so if you haven't read it yet, stop reading this post now... gone yet? good. Anyway, as we all read, Nightwing had his identity revealed to the entire world in the first issue of Forever Evil, and my theory is that the person under Batman's cowl in the Forever Evil covers ( who we can assume is not Bruce Wayne ) is Dick himself, after all, he probably wouldn't want to be running around as Nightwing after the events of the first issue ( Needs a bit of work, I know ), we'll have to wait and see I guess.

I have to say, though, the whole scale is of Forever Evil is starting to look pretty epic, I can't wait to see what happens when the Rogues wind up in the middle of the mass prison breakout in Gotham City...

Also, I've given in and decided to place Teen Titans in the Justice League group, considering the Young Justice group I used to have it in has been pretty much wiped out, I won't bother going into another rant, I said all I wanted to say on that matter last month.

And finally, some Creative changes, as you can probably see two major runs have already come to a close by the time we get to December, with Geoff Johns leaving Aquaman and Brian Buccellato and Francis Manapul departing from Flash, both of the runs end at issue 25. Aquaman will be taken over by Jeff Parker, who's name you'll probably know from one of his current series, "BATMAN '66", then onto the Flash; no permanent creative team has been set for after Buccellato and Manapul but we do know that the issue after they've left will be written by Christos Gage ( With art from Neil Googe), who you'll probably know from his co-writing credits on Amazing Spider-Man and Superior Spider-Man, and the solicit for his one-shot story sounds pretty interesting.

There are some brilliant covers in this group, particularly Green Arrow, Earth 2 and Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S. but my favourite of them all is that Justice League #25 cover with Nightwing. I'm actually getting quite excited for Forever Evil now, it's shaping up to be massive!

And a quick heads up here, I should be posting the Superman and Young Justice group solicits in the next few hours, if you want to keep checking back for those!

Brett Booth to join Batman/Superman in November!

Now I could've just named this post "YAAAAAYY!" but I think it needed a bit more explanation.

DC Comics artist ( and my favourite ), Brett Booth, will be taking on the role of pencilling the new series Batman/Superman this November, with issue five!

Brett has recently finished drawing Nightwing, Justice League of America and his next project before starting Batman/Superman will be a Doomsday one-shot this September for DC's Villain Month. I'm really excited to see this, as Brett is my personal favourite artist ( you can probably tell from the top 10 posts list on the right hand side of this post.)

From Booth's first issue of his run on Batman/Superman, #5

Booth will be taking over from current artist Jae Lee ( who has an extremely different style of art ) and says "I guess now they're going to be switching back-and-forth between me and Jae", which is brilliant news!

Brett Booth will be working with series writer, Greg Pak, and his usual collaborators Inker, Norm Rapmund and Colourist, Andrew Dalhouse. They start their run on the series in November with a Horizontal issue, which should be interesting. I think he mentioned him working on his next project ( which would be this ) for six-issues in my last interview with him, so expect to see his art lead through into the first few months of next year!

Review: Batman and Catwoman #22

This series is keeping to a consistently good standard, it's not the best on the shelves, but it's still very enjoyable and entertaining.

The basic premise of this story is Catwoman is sent on a mission by Colonel Steve Trevor ( Leader of the Justice League of America ) to save a hostage, but has to go to Batman for assistance in doing this. It's a good story, from Peter J. Tomasi, except for one aspect, in my opinion:

The villains, however, seemed a little too rushed. The villains don't get introduced properly or at all, and they're not named either. I feel like the later part of the issue wasn't particularly interesting because of this. This series does do a good job of creating minor villains for tiny roles in the story, but I'm starting to get tired of it, and would've preferred the Carrie Kelly section of this issue to be cut out in exchange for more focus on the Batman/Catwoman story.

The two stories of this issue were the Batman/Catwoman one and the Bruce Wayne/ Carrie Kelley one. Both of the sections were done well and  although the latter did have some brilliant, emotional moments,I would've preferred just one of them in this issue, so there was more time to build it up, as both seemed rushed.

Now onto the art by Patrick Gleason and Mick Gray. I feel like the art is regularly... alright. The faces look usually just odd, it's weird to look at and Carrie Kelley looked much older than she should. Despite this, there are some brilliant pages in this issue, where the face thing isn't a problem, since they're silhouetted out, this is an interesting effect, and those pages were the best part of the issue.

One part of the art I really liked though was miserable Batman. Patrick Gleason draws a really good miserable Batman.

Overall, this was an entertaining issue even though the art seemed odd at times. The interaction between Carrie and Bruce was interesting and made a good read.

DC Comics reveal Villains Month

We've known for a while that DC were planning something quite big for September, similar to the new #1s and Zero month, this would be something that would take over all the books in the New 52. Now, Bleeding Cool have been talking about for a while, this year's event is "Villains Month", or "Forever Evil".

Dan Didio and Jim Lee, DC's co-publishers, called this The New 52's "first major crossover", it's also the title of a new 7-issue miniseries from DC, obviously focusing on the main story of the event. It will also help launch three new series in the New 52, such as, "Forever Evil: Rogues" by Brian Buccelato Patrick Zircher, "Forever Evil: Arkham War" by Peter Tomasi and Scot Eaton and "Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S." by Matt Kindt.

They've also released a lot of covers for the event, "3D motion" covers! They're don't do too much, but they're pretty cool.

Justice League of America/Deadshot

Superman/Bizarro

Green Arrow/ Count Vertigo

Batman: Detective Comics/Poison Ivy

Batman/Joker

The Flash/Grodd

Superman: Action Comics/Cyborg Superman

Green Lantern/Relic

Earth 2/ Desaap(?)

Batman: The Dark Knight/Ventriloquist

Justice League Dark/The Creeper

Justice League/Darkseid

Batman and Robin/Two Face

The final one doesn't get 3D treatment but I'm assuming it's the cover to the Forever Evil miniseries' #1 by Geoff Johns and David Finch.

Forever Evil #1?
